Dr. Bhattacharya earned his medical degree from the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Pondicherry, India. He went on to complete a master’s degree in orthopedics and rehabilitation, further honing his skills in musculoskeletal and rehabilitative care.
He spent six years in England, where he advanced his training in orthopedics, trauma, surgery, pediatrics, geriatrics, and rehabilitation. After immigrating to the United States, he completed his residency in family practice at New York Medical College at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers, NY, and later served as a faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine at the same institution.
In 2001, Dr. Bhattacharya relocated to Massachusetts to join the faculty at Beverly Hospital, where he served as Medical Director of the Family Health Center. He joined Danvers Family Doctors in 2002 and has been delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to patients ever since.
Outside the exam room, Dr. B is an avid runner and has participated in more than a dozen marathons. He’s also a dedicated coffee enthusiast who enjoys connecting with people over a good cup. He’s also known for his quick witted humor that always illicit an eye role from patients and staff alike.
